Chance of a Lifetime

Post by Stein on Thu Jan 07, 2016 1:33 pm

This was a Chance of a lifetime, Letters was sent out by bird to every shinobi in the village of Jokigakure sent from the Kage himself, asking them to come to the training grounds to meet with him, even if they have already met him, to comes, as this was a chance of a life time.

No one knew what Stein had planned, nor would he tell them at this point, he just stood there, arms behind his back in the middle of the training grounds, staring at the entrances of the training grounds, his back towards the forest of death entrance that was chained shut, a warning on the gate about any shinobi found in the forest without permission, the left side of Stein had the training dummies, the very spot that Saya and Kenshin had collided, and the no named female to him, was training at the dummies, the trees not considered apart of the Forest of Death surroding and accessable to either side of the training grounds.

Stein's hair would wave to the right side of his head if it was not for the hat he wore, the wave would be due to the wind that blew gently and brought with it a rather comfortable breeze of warmth, the sun shone through the cloudless day, it was now about noon.

Saya was training when she got the missive from the bird, relentlessly slaying imaginary opponents with wide sweeps and precise stabs of her spear. She did not want to be inturrupted, but what choice did she have? Curiosity and concern had no place in her mind, it was duty alone that drove her towards immediate obedience of her orders, but she wouldn't follow them as fully as she could have. Instead she pauses a moment and creates a shadow clone. It would serve well enough as her messager, and should it be an emergency she'd have no problem catching up with it. The clone shoulders her spear and sets off, springing up atop a building to make her transit both quicker and easier. The steel plates of her armored cloak swish as she leaps from building to building, making a more direct path from the academy to the village training ground.

For as often as Saya trained, she was a rare sight at that often crowded place. She much preferred the tranquility of the academy grounds when classes were not in session. There she was rarely disturbed and could fully focus all her attention on the development of her skills, and strengthening of her body.

As she arrives she spies Stein from a distance, and hops her way to the ground. She makes her way through the training ground until she can present herself before Stein. As always she is respectful, falling to one knee in reverence and bowing to the village leader, and her general.

Reporting as requested, my lord Jokikage
, she states flatly, emotionless in both voice and appearance.

Stein would sigh, He gave ample time, and the only to show was Saya, which he had to dodge the head of her spear , at which he would give a huff to Saya and Warning to watch her spear next time unless she means to attempt an Attack on her kage.

Since the time had past Stein would decide to look directly at Saya, well the Clone of Saya that was before him, and he would motion her to stand, and then he looked at her "For being so Loyal and faithful to me, as well as being the only to show, I will give this test to you, and you alone then Saya"

He would slide his right foot back and prepare the palm of his hand outwards with his left hand and the palm of his right hand outwards, fingertips down however unlike with his left hand, he stood in perfect parellels his right arm across his stomach, his left arm extended straight out from the side, looking at him from this stance would make one see only a flat line just about of a man, due to his slim build as well though, now ready he nods to Saya for the first move

Saya gives Stein something of a strange look as he addresses her, rising to her feet as commanded. When he assumes a fighting stance things make slightly more sense, but battling her kage wasn't something she had quite planned for. She was but a weak little clone, but trivial handicaps never dampened her confidence. Saya nods a little, and hops back about 2 meters to put a little distance between them. It might seem an odd choice for someone so fond of fighting up close and personal, but then again a spear did require some distance to be used to full effect. She slides a foot back behind her, turning her body some to preset a more narrow profile, and less body to attack. She doesn't attack right away, though, first comes her words.

You wish for me to attack you? Would it not be dangerous to use my spear? I have no practice weapons with me, but am willing to fetch one. I worry that my spear is quite sharp, and while I may not be able to strike you with it, I might but an eye out when I bow at the end.

Certainly different.. Saya cracked a .. joke? Not much of one, to be sure, however it was the closest to brevity she'd ever come in such a public place. Fighting did bring up her levels of joy and cheer, however this was something different. Saya was making a conscious effort of late to be less high strung; to take the world less seriously. She casts aside her mask for the moment so she can look Stein in the face appropriately. It wasn't as though she was worried about poison gas in a place like this.

"You May use your Spear if you wish, Saya, Do not fear for your Kage" He would smile at her, even though his smile would come off as creepy, he stood at the ready, awaiting her, he wanted to see what she was capable of by his own hand, she had good morals, but was she trainable was his biggest concern, plus he had ranks in his village he needed to fill and she was the only one to answer the summons so far, thus putting her ahead of the rest in his mind at this moment in time, lets see how long she could last against her kage

Saya nods once more as Stein authorizes use of her weapons. She had assumed that a good strike wouldn't outright kill a kage, surely their legendary skills were beyond a death so simple as that. Saya takes another hop backwards, putting another meter of space between them. She was very talented up close, however rushing to the melee against someone so skilled was a fool's errand, and Saya was no fool. She would have to play a ranged game for a while, until she knew what she was dealing with.

Her hop doesn't take her very high or even very far, but she lifts her spear high above her head as she moves, and when she lands she lands surpisingly hard. The solid end cap of her spear slams into the ground, but the ground's reaction is no where near as subdued as it should have been. A little chakra through her spear and into the ground, and it shakes for a moment like a meteor struck it, then splits wide open. A jagged crack tears outwards from her spear, tearing the great fissure open towards Stein quickly. Once fully opened the rift would be about 15 meters long and 10 deep, but only about 5 meters wide. The shape remained jagged, a crooked gash in the earth so reminiscent of the lightning bolts she loves so much. Saya is safe at her end of it, it starting at her spear, and providing her enough to bring the bladed end down to serve as a deterrent should Stein wish to rush her.

The moment the Feet of the girl left the air, Stein was quick on the draw, he would quickly throw his hands together to form four seals, and as Saya lands on the ground, Stein too touched his hands to the ground, and as her fissure begins to be made, a spider web begins to move out for thirty meters, so when her Fissure is made, Stein would be standing on an Electrified spider web, he would be safe of course, but if Saya did not move then she would be caught by the spider web and electrocuted herself.

Stein would then return to his stance he had earlier, as at this point Saya was now only about five meters away and Stein was prepared, the Fissure was a nice surprise, but if his Spider Web hit Saya this could be over quickly.

Saya's eyes go slightly wide with surprise as he acts before she had expected.  Surprise, however, was not panic.  Her reaction is subtle, but all she needs, and no sooner does she open that rift than her feet leave the ground once more.  It's not a leap or sprint, she barely moves in fact, however a cusion of chakra forms beneath her feet, lifting her off the ground a pair of inches.  It wasn't much, but it was enough to keep her from contacting the lightning jutsu.  She knew all too well what would happen if Raiton struck her, it was an element she was intimately familiar with.

Saya is off like a shot, leaning slightly backwards and then gliding effortlessly across the ground, as if she was skating on water or ice.  The secret was her boots, the chakra cloud beneath them focusing and pushing her smooth and silently backwards at about a speed of 60.  She was moving fast for someone her age, but more importantly she was moving pretty quickly for someone carrying so much weight!  She was quick to lose some, however, spinning her spear once and tossing it quickly aside.  It would lodge in the ground as she glided, the blade sinking deep into the earth and sticking there.  For now, she'd use her jutsu.

Still moving backwards she forms a single tiger seal and draws in a quick breath.  A moment later she parts her lips and leans her head forward.  From the back of her throat light appears, and a searing beam of blue-white energy tears forth, shooting like a narrow laser directly at Stein.  It was the song of the storm, though shouting the jutsu's name while using it was simply unthinkable.

Stein would smirk as he watched the hand seal form, yes he saw everything else, impressive evade, but next was something to marvel at from him, with a drop to the web he placed his hands on it in the safe area, and as the technique of Saya's made its way, a puff of smoke would generate as it hit something, as well as could be the puff of smoke of a summon, which it was, cause out of the smoke as it continued to grow, was the fifty meter tall Rashomon Gate, and Stein standing atop of it, and he smirked as he looked down at Saya below, little known was the real Stein behind the gate, cause in the puff of smoke, as the Rashomon raised, Stein created a shadow clone, so when the next jutsu that was used revealed itself, it would be a doozy.

Out of the very end of the fissure, where her spear once stood, a golem of mass size formed, equaling that of the Rashomon gate, the golem would then extend a arm out in an attempt to squash the Saya, however as the Golem appeared, Stein would step from the top of the Rashomon gate to the golem and would ride the golem's Shoulder until the time where the golem started his attempt to squish the saya, at which point Stein would start to slide down the arm of the golem while extending outwards one of his threads, aiming to strike above the golems fingers as he was doing a closed hand squish, so if Saya would escape the grasp of the golem, she had a thread to worry about, if the thread struck Saya only god knows what would happen next.

Another surprise, she'd never seen such a large beast summoned from the earth. Only her bijuu compared, and even that she'd never really seen in all its physical glory. Her action is simple, with no spear in hand her feet once more hit the ground. She pulls her cloak closed and braces for impact. At least, that is how it would seem. Moments before the strike would land, however, what Saya truly planned would happen.

The fist, the threads, even Stein might think the hit would land, and truly it might have if Saya was not only a clone. A cloud of smoke pours from beneath her cloak, masking the dismissal of the clone amid the haze and swirl of a smoke bomb being popped. The smoke engulfs the scene, blanketing the area as the clone vanishes. Immediately its memories return to Saya, and she is not slow to react. Still armed and armored she departs the her favored spot in the academy and takes to the air, soaring swifting towards the training grounds.

It was going to take her a moment to get there, but flying in a straight line would cut down on that. Her imrpessive speed would help as well, but for now Stein would be left alone. Where Saya had gone might be a mystery, one moment there, and the next simply gone. Was she really that fast? Was she hiding her skills? Saya was a known user of Doton, so maybe she just went underground. It'd be questions for now, hopefully long enough to keep Stein busy while she made her way to his location.

Stein the clone, now on the ground not only witnessed the smoke that rolled from under the giant's hand, but he also spotted the spear that was held disappear like smoke, a sign of only one thing, a clone, Stein would yet sigh as he would direct attention towards the direction of the gate, by this point any other shinobi and also villagers could see the massive golem and gate, most certainly so could Saya from where ever she be, Stein simply stands at the ready, both the one once behind the gate, and the other now standing yet directly at the entrance, looking towards the direction the clone had once came.Meanwhile the real stein welcomed earth's embrace.

This was going to be a tricky fight. Saya could see the golem looming above the village's buildings off in the distance, along with the great Rashimon gates looming ever resilient around it. Stein didn't seem to be holding back, but that was a blessing for Saya. With him taking this so seriously, she was free to do the same. She'd never been willing to go straight for blood with simple training, or demonstrations of her skill, but this was something different. Stein was pushing her, and both duty and honor insisted that she did not disappoint.

She dips lower in altitude as she sees the golem off on the horizon, blending in for a moment with the crowd of villagers near the marketplace. Few seemed genuinely panicked, most were simply watching in both awe and apprehension. Do not be afraid! she would call out while adjusting her cloak some. Some eyes turned to her, well known to be the black sheep, the village oddity, that girl who never talked to people. Our great lord Jokikage is only testing his powers. Look on, know that this power protects us all.

The little sermon wasn't a good one, just some words to sooth the locals, however it might be somewhat undercut by what Saya does next. She leans her spear against her shoulder and lifts both hands, crossing her fingers in front of her. One after another little puffs of smoke appear around Saya, until there are four additional copies of Saya standing there. Three of the clones nod, then form another hand seal. Each of her clones were only given a small fraction of her chakra, Saya keeping most of it for herself. Three clones use up some of their chakra for a simple jutsu, and are instantly engulfed in new clouds, small bursts of smoke as they transform.

One of them takes on Stein's shape, stitches and all, and quickly peels away from the group. Another takes on another shape that Saya is familiar with, that of the chuunin Kashen. The third takes on the shape of Uzumaki Kenshin, a genin she had only recently met. The copies both held a nearly flawless seeming of the two they copied, and they begin off towards the training ground at a quicker pace, albeit one slower than the Stein clone would. She was not planning these clones for destruction, no no. She had something more devious in mind, something more important for those who mastered the shinobi arts. She had confusion in mind, and distraction. She shares a glance with the last clone, the only clone that still had her image, and gives her a little nod. That clone leans down, presses her hands against the ground, and swiftly becomes one with the earth.

Everything was coming together now, but Saya would still remain amid the group of confused and astonished villagers. In a few moments she would make her own move, but she wanted to give the clones a chance to get into position first.

Stein would be the first clone to appear, leaping up and over the training ground walls, and landing on the other side. It made no attempt to hide, and stood there stoic and proud, staring up at the Rashimon gates, the golem, and the other Stein clone present.

Kenshin and Kashen were both making their approach towards the gates about them, off in the distance running like they were late for the meeting.

The Stein that appeared over the Wall suddenly was Obviously a Clone, cause It would jump right into the still exisisting Spider Web that Stein had previously created himself, which would draw the rest of the electricity into that clone as it popped, just to make sure it was in fact a clone, or to eliminate anyone who would dare to look like him, the web had after all been thirty Meters in all directions from the very center of the Training Grounds, and the Stein of Saya's jumped well more then needed over the wall and exactly onto the edge of the web, As Stein moved towards the entrance. Still having eyes peeled for Saya and anyone else who may appear at the training grounds.

The Rashomon Gate would also Disperse now Revealing nothing behind it, The Earth Golem, now back to standing fully erect and waiting as well, Stein that could be seen sighing and growing bored with this waiting game that was yet played by Saya and anyone else wishing to join the meeting that Stein had summoned everyone to.

Kashen and Kenshin would enter at the same time, slowing to a jog as they pass through the front gate, both peering around curiously.  “What's happening here?” the Kenshin clone would begin, while the Kashen clone reiterates Kenshin's concerns. “Yeah, what did we miss?”

Both clones approach with a sense of caution, peering about to take in every detail.  Not only would this give them a better illusion of having only just arrived, each detail they spotted would make fine intel once they popped and their memories returned to Saya.  Below ground Saya was taking her time.  Though she could move quickly, the information feed was less detailed when relying on mental maps, vibrations, and the subtle sensations of electrical fields all around her.  She'd get there in a bit, but for now going was slow.

Off at the market, Saya watches as the Rashimon all vanish.  At least it was something, but that Golem would be her main problem.  She starts off for the training grounds, however she does so in a round about fashion, not heading for the front gate, but making to flank around the walls and approach it from behind.  It wasn't as though there had ever been made a wall that a shinobi could not climb over.  It was a far better choice, in her mind, than walking right in the front door.

The Stein clone would dispearse after the clones of Kenshin and Kashen arrived, the Earth golem to removed from existance, and then from behind the two rose the Real Stein, who would reach out to the two and slam their heads together, enough to make it hurt, maybe even bleed, but not enough to kill the boys if they were real, and Stein would begin to go on rant, as he was the one who moved towards and beyond the entrance of the training grounds, before the clone was dispearsed it had stayed in spot.

Steins Rant would start "How is it, I send a Bird to every single Shinobi in my village at this time, and the only one to answer was Saya, and she did so by Shadow Clone, I know cause I made it poof, she would had fooled me, had she not discarded her spear to a location i could see go into a poof of smoke, so what pray tell are the excuses for the two of you being late!" Stein at this point would be in both of the boys faces, be they be on the ground or standing still, with sore heads if not bleeding they would be, most likely, with headaches that would quickly set in, not helped at all by Stein's Boisterous voice right in their faces.

Silently both clones would set into action, the expressions on their face shifting some as Stein comes within reach. There's no delight in the surprise, no look of anger or determination, just an eerily familiar visage of blank indifference and sudden action. It was a look worn frequently by the melancholy youth white white hair and blue eyes. If that was not the first hint that these two boys were not what they seemed, their swift action surely gave the rest away. In unison the two act with mirroring martial styles, speed, and grace.

Kashen, or so it would seem, slips low, beneath Stein's grabbing hands and flashes a foot out mid spin to sweep Stein's legs out from beneath him. At the same time Kenshin moves backwards just out of reach, and waits for Kashin's attack to create an opening. If stein reacted to Kashen, Kenshin would attack high, aiming for his chest with a pair of punches.

Both moved at the same fast speed(100), and their strikes and styles were so similar it was impossible for them to truly be the two whose images they had stolen. They were as surely Saya as the self imaged clone still lingering beneath the surface of the earth. She'd made her approach to the training grounds and maneuvered between the posts of the gate at about the time the clones attacked. She had a little distance between herself and Stein, but now she could better sense what was going on.

Saya was sadly out of the loop for the moment, taking her time but moving quickly. Only if another clone went pop would she get a better idea of just what was going on in there. Silently she chided herself for forgetting about the lightning web, that was a rookie mistake she'd be sure to atone for. Laps, or some other strenuous physical activity would absolve her of the action later, but for now she had a fight to win. Fast as she was, Saya was waving a winding route between buildings and along back streets to get where she was going unseen. The looming wall at least told her she was getting closer.

Kenshin was walking towards the training grounds with a small frown on his face, he had seen the Rashomon gates and the massive golem there but had written it off as Stein getting in some pretty intensive training, but that was not why he was walking to the training grounds whilst frowning, the reason that he was walking towards the training grounds was because earlier when he was walking back through the gates of the village someone who was transformed into him ran right past him and towards the training grounds with Stein. He had not received the message from Stein since he had been training down in the geyser grounds since close to 4am, and only as he was coming back did he notice Stein's fight with Saya, which he had just written off as Stein getting some training in, but as he saw the person transformed into him run towards Stein he just wouldn't allow them to go around pretending to be him

Kenshin arrived just in time to see Stein attempt to grab the person transformed into him and another teen whom he didn't know, at the moment he was standing 6 meters to the right of Stein, but unfortunately for Kenshin everything that happened from this point on looked to be nothing more than a blur, all of it happening much too fast for Kenshin’s eyes to truly process and thus making him even more confused about everything that was happening. He was only sure of one thing, whatever was happening here was far beyond the level that he was currently at, but based on what he had managed to see of the people it was a group of Joki shinobi fighting against the Jokikage, even if one of said shinobi was transformed into him to do so. Kenshin paid no more mind to what was happening and decided that he wanted to join in with the fight, so he quickly withdrew one of his kunai and threw it at Stein, deciding to test his own mettle against the Jokikage rather than let the person trying to pass off as him do it instead

The moment Kashen Dropped down, Stein knew this could not be the boy, the boy would have accepted punishment, So Stein would growl as he made threads shoot out of his ankle closest to the Kashen at a speed of one hundred, and at the same time kicked forward, and because he reacted to Kashen, He saw the flicker of hands so since Kashen had the left foot to worry about, the Kenshin must not have been the Kenshin he knew either, so making like Spiked knuckles thanks to his threads, he would aim a one hundred speed punch to counter the first punch of the kids, if connected with the Kenshin, the spikes of threads would then shoot forward at a speed of one hundred as well and keep going till they broke out the shoulder of whoever the imposter was, The Kashen Imposter had a kick of one hundred speed with a thread moving at a hundred speed as well, for a comboed speed of like two hundred aimed to catch the imposter at such a angle that it would catch the shin of the boy, but the thread was angled by the foots angle it would be protuding out the back of the knee of the Imposter.

Suddenly a Kunai would come into the corner eye view of Stein's, so he would reach out with his left hand at a speed of one hundred and twenty to catch it by the hilt, he spun it around upon a finger an flung it directly back without looking, thinking it yet another trap from this group of Imposters, the Kunai was flying at speeds of well over one hundred and fifty when thrown by the kage, if the kunai hit where it came from, the one throwing it would be caught in the forehead.

Stein would hope that the injuries inflicted would be enough to get desired effects from the imposters, knowing not that they be clones, nor knowing that the one who he just flung the kunai back at was a young boy that was truly one of his, Kenshin Uzumaki. The Fates of this moment would be in the hands of those powerful enough to grasp them.

Wait!” Cries Kenshin, the single syllable hardly breaching her lips before she is gone. Desperation left so little time for planning, so little time for judging distance or measuring chakra. She presses it all into her feet, and in a flick of dust and grass she is gone. The same instant she appears beside Kenshin, dead set on stopping at nothing to see him removed from harm's path. The fates, however, deemed otherwise.

She landed already kicking, a booted foot aimed at his chest. She knew it would hurt, she knew it might even hospitalize the genin, however neither of those things would happen. Instead only mist and smoke would strike his chest, the last traces of chakra used for the bodyflicker robbing the clone of its ability to remain solid. As it dispersed the kunai would arrive, her efforts too little, but not too late.

It's memory transfers to Saya as she is mounting the wall, and the sudden shock is almost too much for her system. She's seen only moments later, landing at the scene before the smoke has even settled, and ignoring her clones and the fight to check on her fallen comrade. Saya was not herself, seeming more beast than human as she crouched over the prone figure. With a knife in his head, there was little need to consult a doctor.

Her form blazed with power, not just her chakra cloak, but something more, something thicker. Storm chakra was blended with her cloak, darkening it some, solidifying it, causing it to crackle and pop and hiss with sparks of lightning and motes of flashing chakra. Her tails were out, six of them now, with four forming a traditional fan of feathers for her tail. Two others grew out from her shoulders, one from each sticking sideways like a rather small pair of wings. Her feet were clad in long, hooked talons some six inches each, already gouging out small tears in the ground beneath her, while from each of her fingers lies a much longer claw.

The copy of Kashen still standing beside Stein in utter shock made no effort to defend. It would not have done so well anyway, unprepared for the full effect of Stein's secret jutsu. The wires would cut into her, and first the transformation would fade. Saya would appear for a moment, before the clone followed suit and left Stein with none presently assaulting him.

Kenshin had no time to react as the kunai was sent sailing back at him, the speed being so great and the distance so small that it wouldn't even take a second for the kunai to hit him, the last thought that he had being of his sister Tori, and hoping that she would be able to get on without him, but that was all he was able to think before the kunai hit him in the centre of the forehead, killing him instantly

Stein would see the clone of Saya poof, so it was a trap by saya all along, he would spin around feeling a change in the weather, and when he did he saw the changing form of Saya, and in her arms, the body of Kenshin, a Kunai in his forehead, Stein thought for a moment, and realized, the Kunai he intercepted, and he would slowly walk over to the two of them and dropped down next to Saya, and he would slide his arms under Kenshin's Body and lift it up as he stands up and begins to head off towards the Kage Building, he needed to prepare the body, he would also need to inform Kenshin's Little Sister eventually.

But before he left he would turn to Saya and say to her "Albeit a Sad day today, find some solace in your new rank, your a Special Jounin of Jokigakure from henceforth, Now clam yourself and I will handle this" then he would leave as previously stated.

Death will be part you. You are shinobi. The words brought little comfort to her as she stared down at Kenshin's prone figure. There was little doubt that Stein could find fault in his demise, but in her own mind she bore all of the blame. This was a possibility she had measured when enacting the diception, but she'd not seen Kenshin since their last meeting. He had not shown up, so she had figured his form was useful enough to trick her Kage. She had measured incorrectly, however. Her plan had succeeded, but in the end it caused the death of a village genin.

Saya is still oddly stoic, that placid look of indifference remaining dominant on her face. Her lips were pursed, but she was not frowing or smiling, not crying or cheering; she simple was. She was as she was the day before, and the week before, and years before this day, with no visible change to her exterior. She drops to one knee as her storm beast jutsu dissipates, taking the edges and bulk off of her chakra aura. She's left in only her tails, though those too begin to bubble and evaporate away.

My apologies, lord Kage, this is not what I had planned. She says quietly, but clearly, her eyes downcast for a moment. After Stein takes Kenshin and begins to depart, she rises to watch him go. She says nothing, but remains as stoic as the moments before the fight began. She did not wish to dishonor Kenshin's death with an outpouring of emotion or grief. The moment wasn't about her, nor even about her Kage. So she would simply stand there, and watch him depart with the body.

She ignored the voice in her heart, the Thunderbird within her trying to comfort her, even pointing out how successful her ruse was, but she'd not heed its words for now. Once Stein was gone she would return for her equipment, the staff and spear both discarded before she scaled the wall. She'd find them, don her armor once more, and then silently make her way back to her hidden training grounds, the small clearing behind the academy she loved so much. She never had to worry about killing people there. So few ever ventured past it.

(Exit, claiming Experience, and removal of Kenshin's Body from this thread)

Edit: Also Need Saya's Rank Up Approved, She Passed the Jounin Exam by utilizing combos that wound up tricking the Kage to kill one of his own Ninja, she was also Holding her own Against Stein as well, thus Wish to give her the rank of Special Jounin (B-rank)
