A Mission to a Downgraded Village [Travel]

Post by Sho on Sun Dec 20, 2015 10:01 pm

An orange light was casting over Hyozangakure as the sun peeked over the horizon. The pure white snow that had fallen overnight was being painted the same hue as the sun as it slowly rose from its own slumber. As the village's other civilians would be waking up as well, at least one would not be. The kunoichi that called herself "Sho".

A sort of alarm clock would be going off in a small apartment belonging to the girl. The device seemed to be self made and designed like an egg timer, in that one had to crank it for it to go off at a set time. Instead of making a single chime of a bell, the sound that would come from the device would be more of a loud snapping noise, making such a sound three consecutive times before stopping. Sho would be sitting at a table however, surrounded by tools and what one could only assume to be puppet parts. She looked over her shoulder and back at her alarm that set by her clean, unkempt bed. "Huh..." she paused to look around her and at the mess she had only added to an apartment already covered in puppet limbs, heads, and mechanisms. Strangely enough her bed was almost always nice and neat.

"Damn" was the only word she used to comment on her situation. She had gotten so much done and didn't even pass out from exhaustion. She was getting better at this, Sho thought. The girl stood up from her seat, moving around the tools and parts with her foot where she stood. "Should probably eat breakfast..." the kunoichi spoke to herself. When she said breakfast however, what she meant was to grab various fruits and eat them while she boiled water in a kettle for a cup of noodles. Sitting back down in her chair, Sho tried to think of what she had to do today. The sound of water bubbling began to escalate as she collected her thoughts. Only when it reached her peak did she remember what she needed to do today. "Son of a bitch!" she shouted almost loud enough to wake her neighbors and then some. She needed to be going to the stupid Snow Village today to see why they were being assholes about trade.

The puppeteer tore the plastic top off of her instant noodles and poured the boiled water in. Now she needed to get her things. Clothes? Nah she was alright, she as already wearing an alright outfit. She'd be wearing a flak jacket anyway and her pants and shoes were fine. She scrambled to grab her gear and her noodles, heading out the door once she did. While jogging down the snowy street, Sho would be stirring her noodles with a pair of chopsticks. There was no reason not to eat and run, she thought, aside from the drops of hot water that would splash on her hands. She didn't have the time to worry about that though. She needed to have been on her way before the sun even woke up. The girl headed for the village gates to begin her trip to the Snow.

SILENT ASSAILANT
A MISSION TO A DOWNGRADED VILLAGE
Dotting the awoken sky were translucent flecks of glistening snow flakes, their crystalline figures fluttering in synch toward the coated ground below. The sun was just rising, having painted the sky with a mesmerizing hue of apricot. Throughout the village, those who were still cast under the spell of slumber remained in comfort of warmth, but for those who were cursed by consciousness, they were greeted by the severe cool weather of Hyozangakure. It was a world of frozen ice and white. Under the yawning sun, the aesthetic demon with the horrid looks of tantalizing chastity and pulverizing enchantment breathed, his abhorrent presence dynamic to the cold world before him. The man of six foot one leisurely sat upon a snow-coated roof just beside the frozen gates of Hyozangakure, patiently awaiting his old teammate, Sho.

Narrowing his eyes of crimson by the slightest bit, he gripped the thick edge beneath his body and leaned forward, the mush of snow left unbothered as he slipped off. With the lithe body of a mere cat, the male landed on the balls of his heels without a disturbance to the leaking snow below, this action looking ever so graceful in the morning sun. His frost-bitten hair of palled snow torpidly drifted downward, gently wavering in the trickling fingers of gravity. As he glanced over to his right, he caught the sight of a beige orb flying toward his figure, and as he squinted his eyes to make out what it had been, an odd, husky and short chuckle came about from his numb lips. Coming his way was a rushing Sho, a cop of noodles sloshing around in a styrofoam cup between her hands.

Shaking his head lightly, the man turned toward her with his arms crossed and his eyes crestfallen in a sheepish manner. "Oi, Sho. There you are," he greeted lowly in a composed voice, barely inaudible to the outside world but loud enough for her shinobi ears to hear. The two were supposed to head off to the Snow village today, much to his disapproval. It was quite trifling, to be truthful. But the man would at least try his very best to make the best out of it.

Grabbing on one stick with her teeth, she pulled the utensils apart. Using her left hand to do so, she began feeding herself the now cooked noodles and vegetables. Despite her hasty attitude, there was absolutely no reason to rush. They had been given enough time that Sho could have taken off in the middle of the afternoon and still be fine. What forced her into such a rush would be her need to keep busy, she might even get noticed by some higher ups. This was fairly important after all, if it wasn't she wouldn't even be going to the Snow Village.

The rushing girl looked up upon hearing her name being called out to see a male figure ahead. "The fuck?" she muttered under her breath, adjusting her glasses to better see the man. It was Cae? Oh wait, she thought. That's right, she was assigned a partner to do this mission with. She was never told who exactly, something about finding a free shinobi of a high enough rank. Lots of people must have considered this a low priority mission, especially with the Bingo Book having been updated so recently.

"Kale! Yo!" she shouted a greeting as she began to approach him, but instead of stopping by the male, Sho simply kept on going past the gate while slurping down more noodles. She wanted to get going, she couldn't sit and chat. By the small time she spent actually looking at his expression, he seemed like he was waiting on Sho? She didn't know other people got up at the asscrack of dawn to do their missions. "Hey, sorry, we don't have time. We gotta get this Sho on the road!" the girl exclaimed with a mouth full of noodles, chuckling to herself as she kept on running.

AN UNKNOWN TRAVEL
A MISSION TO A DOWNGRADED VILLAGE
"Kale! Yo!" Hearing the midget of a woman refer to him as a leaf of cabbage caused the silver incubus to arch a white eyebrow in her direction, a low growl rumbling beneath his chest as he ceased a scoff from coming about. "Kale...hmph," he grumbled under his hot breath, a cloud of warmth coiling into the cool air and being captured by the cold's grasp. His old teammate didn't cease her jog; instead, she continued on by him in a hurried fashion—even with the damn cup of noodles in her hands—and proceeded past the gates. Rolling his crimson hued eyes, the man twisted upon his heel and pushes forth, creating a travel along in her minuscule footprints that were imprinted within the snow. "Hey, sorry, we don't have time. We gotta get this Sho on the road!" she muffled with a mouth full of chomped up noodles, causing the twenty-six year old to sigh heavily and shake his head. She was an interesting one, that's for sure. "Yeah, yeah..." he brushed off in a lackadaisical grunt. The lengths of brittleness were high within his closed pores as his skin was parched, famished to be drenched in the cold, slurring slush of snow that drifted all around them. The cool tear drops of fog seemed to not bother him at all. If anything, it soothed and hushed his screaming, burning skin, the demon's skin that always radiated such heat due to his unwonted traits.

Following behind in a silent trail, his hands softly clenched within his damp pockets of black pants, his half-lidded eyes studying the tiny silhouette before him. He was never close to either of his teammates in the past. He always kept to himself, never really bothered with them unless they needed his protection. He tried to socialize with them in the older days, but such communication was never a true success. But Sho picked up on this, and she never pushed him. She let him be, and therefore he appreciated the silent understanding she had. A perturbed look slowly crept about his features, a silent tumult churning inside him. “Hate to interrupt your feast there,” he called out in neutrality, “–but why are we going to this hell hole again? Don't quite recall,” his palliative voice deafened the frozen tundra just outside the gates around them, the tall being slightly leaning his nose up in the air as he peered down at the girl before him with luring eyes. The sun above allowed its illuminating light to cast its acceptance among the two, revealing both ends of the rope. The demon clenched his jaw as his patience trickled slowly through his seeping muscles, pulsating beneath his marbled skin. Noting how he gained no response, he assumed that the tiny being had been too consumed with stuffing her face, and therefore he brushed off his curious question and looked up into the sky, exhaling. "Well, Gods, art thou going to be kind to me today or art thou going to be a pain in my fucking ass? So far, I see you're carving a long path that leads toward my misery..." the demon muttered to himself, voicing out his thoughts to the unknown above. Glancing down with aloof eyes, the demon kept his stubborn stride behind the pixie like woman, a small gap distancing the two as they parted their frozen village. Off to a cold ass hell they go.
