What Secrets Lie in Death? ( Satoru/ Shinigai...may be others?)

Post by Ashura The Gluttonous on Wed Feb 22, 2017 9:39 am

The village was finally in sight. The first chapter in what would be a beautiful tale in life and the eventual destruction of the floating village. The beautiful thing about this floating fortress was its chinks. Simple areas not covered per se by anything and if one knew how to get through them? They would. The male was no exception to this rule. Bypassing the small area he landed on the floating mass that was the graveyard of the fallen. Ninja of Sukai both past and present laid here almost in eternal peace.

There was the first grave. His grave. A tale of a hero turned into a demon, the ghost with no name. A smirk played upon his face as he pushed his senses to the brink waiting for someone to interrupt his trip down memory lane, but until then? He walked through the grave. So many of these people of the past he knew and fought with. Their tombstones beaten by the elements and time where his? No name.

After a moment or two he found himself in front of the one he wanted. From the inner pockets of his robe he pulled a single cigarette, an old habit from the body he now inhabited and lit it," Ahhh feels good to be home ain't it? I don't know what the appeal is with these but they make me look cool," he mused to himself as he took small drags from it.

Here lies Ashura Akimichi, Sukaikage.

Quaint. If only they knew the truth but he wagered this grave was empty. No body for this casket but it was the sentiment that meant something. In his somewhat lifeless eyes he prepared a myriad of images none the greater than seeing his family lamemt over a "great" loss. Humans were so fickle in these things but how many had truly remembered this man.

As he began to ponder onward he could feel it. Someone or rather something had been coming forward, who? He could not say but only a smile appeared on his face as he let the smoke slowly release from his nose.

And what business do you have with the dead?

And just like that the infiltration process into Sukaigakure no Sato | the Village Hidden in the Sky had been nothing short of a success, amongst the hordes of people coming in wave after wave along the streets and different avenues was Setōshi Sōichirō with a makeshift horde of his own. A plethora of reasons behind such a tactic with the first being to conceal his presence, true as it may be that of the two guardsmen left alive at the sky port just on the outskirts of the village one of which had retained some memory of the events that actually happened upon Setōshi's arrival, thus he more than figured that it was safe to assume that of the many people that didn't believe in the man's story there was potentially one that did and he would not have this variable gone without being factored in with some thought behind it. Resurrected around the man about a single meter and a half apart in the cardinal directions of his facing (North, East, South, West) were four seemingly normal individuals, as a part of his wave two others had been systematically and strategically placed one in the front and one in the back. There was nothing physically that could set the waves of people that were coming to and fro apart from the ones included in the acting barricade that Setōshi had around himself, his attention to the details of his environment allowed him to mimic the styles and colors of the attire as well as some mannerisms that seemed consistent amongst the acting citizens of Sukaigakure. The ruse was all but perfect, some flaws here and there, but to the naked eye of the public the boy went unnoticed and unseen as he navigated his wave throughout the streets with only having to look up from a personal journal that he was writing in every so often.

Hmm… The people here are… Modern-ish, whatever that means for this world… Kōkōu - the second lifetime, had styles similar to this, but definitely no floating villages… - Mere thoughts of Setōshi's stretched too far and in depth than he truly needed, in short form he converted these thoughts in silence in a unique font not accustomed nor able to be read from anyone of this dimension.

Side note - The execution and utilization of the, Tōton: Horoguramu no Jutsu| Light Release: Hologram Technique, has come far, but its limits I don't think I have tested it yet… For now though, six holograms seems to be the limit, duration as of twelve thirty-four post meridiem is fifteen minutes at a constant rate of a one meter and a half radius. - The boy wrote whilst turning the group of people down a path leading off of the main streets through simple mental command.

Having already marked down different routes leading to several locations throughout the village, such as The Breed Grounds and the World Facing the Sun and that of the entrance from The Sky, the path he trekked now was unknown and in his mind worth documenting in his journal. Nothing was special about this journal, a couple hundred sheets of small blank paper within its spine, although foreign to its design had been placed the kanji for the word "Projection" ( 投影, Tōei) singed on the front of the notebook alongside another kanji that had yet to be identified or been in use thus far in Setōshi's journey. Up ahead two signs with conflicting arrows pointed toward opposite left and right routes leading away from each other, printed on the signs were what was assumed the ending destinations: to the right "The Graveyard" and to the left "The Sukaikage Building". The idea of the information that could be acquired from both places made the boy anxious to pick a route, out of the two options the route of the Sukaikage's Building was only something he wanted to do because of the dopamine being pushed through his system due to being the vessel for one of the fabled beasts of unimaginable chakra heard in legend. Previously their had been some hostility arisen between the two parties and since the two had not been on speaking terms, ever since resisting the Four Tailed Dragon's presence the more he had to promote his own existence by choosing things for himself, thus he did.

"To the left where nothing is right?.. Or to the right where nothing is left?.. Decisions, decisions… Oh dear, woe be me…" - Setōshi said under his breath low enough that only his ears were privileged with being able to hear him, a page was turned over in his notebook and new words began to fill the page.

If it had not been known before it would surely come to be known to watchful eyes throughout the tenure of his journey that Setōshi was the analytical type, attention to detail was everything and what he didn't know he questioned, thus by extension he was very intellectual not a byproduct of birth but because he sought out what he wanted to know. There was nothing more that he wanted to know of than the human mind which explains his fascination with the study of Psychology, most in power had similar mindsets especially when it came to being a protector of sorts such as a Kage of a village. In the event that the guardsmen whose memory had been retained had passed word to a weary Sukaikage the village would be on high alert, the presence of an undocumented Jinchūriki could be a potential hazard for a village with such a unique placement in the sky a such. With this sort of thinking process in mind at the start of each new route Setōshi edited the appearances, genders, heights, weights, clothing and placement of the holographic projections of light chakra around him. The lack of people on the road toward entrance of the Graveyard gave the boy some comfort and allowed him to fine tune the details of the new wave of performers, with each row of tombstones that passed subtle changes in the overall appearances of the projections began to change as the movement of the boy's finger against the notepad's paper mimicked that of a writing utensil. A light no larger than a pencils tip emitted from a point on his index finger as it moved across the notepad, the unusual configuration of the figurines that were presumed to be the lettering of the foreign language were listed under six presumable names.

As he wrote so they became in demonstration of the level of control and shape manipulation exerted over his chakra which brings up the second reasoning for having this way, gained experience. The longer he kept the jutsu active and the holograms present the easier in time they'd be able to be conjured and manipulated for longer periods of time, to Setōshi this had become nothing short of a training exercise to build up the reserves of his chakra, not that he needed it with activation of his Photosynthetic Melenated Skin Cells. Out of the act of hiding in plain sight the boy had experienced and gained far more than what most in his position would have, but even that was due to not being institutionalized by what was promoted out of the village system. Having to instead fend for himself and use the experiences gained throughout his journey he had gotten on track to a life in espionage, he first needed to know what he didn't understand and that was of the village, thus after this trip to the graveyard Setōshi had in the works a plan to retrace his steps and chose the path that had not been taken leading up to the Sukaikage's Building.

To most the presence of a graveyard meant emotions thoughts and feelings of death that aren't thought of on daily basis, Setōshi understood that the mere conjuring of anything from this subject brought about a different nature in people. He himself was partial to the subject because he knew that everyone was bound to die at one point or another, but due to the circumstances of his birth he had experienced three lifetimes before this one. At times he doubted the since of reality that he experienced, in truth awaiting for the rift and space and time to occur so the next journey could be had. Until the day proved otherwise Setōshi would make this lifetime his own by walking a path that was his own even if it put him at odds against the beast nestled inside of him, as he entered the graveyard the people accompanying departed in separate directions whilst never deviating from the direction they had been set in by their creator. Having stopped in his tracks a few steps after the entrance the boy's head began to turn on a slow swivel, he feigned looking for a particular direction under the guise of his hooded head, but in reality his eyes surveyed the scene counting the occupants of the eerie graveyard. There was but one other, a man Setōshi judged from his current distance who stood looking over a grandiose tombstone, one he deemed fitting for a Kage or some other high end or important historical figure to Sukaigakure no Sato. The sole man peeked the interest of the young by causing questions to arise, confrontation wasn't in the plans at the moment so he would have to settle for from afar, thus after making his way down the aisles of graves he stopped an entire three rows behind about twenty meters and three tombstones from his left hand side about five meters. If words were to be spoken he would potentially hear, if actions were to be made he would potentially see, but for the time Setōshi kept his face shielded and facing downward as if to pay respects to the grave he now kneeled over. In reality he documented within a new page of his notebook what he could gather to be the physical description of the man, from his positioning only the royal blue eyes of the boy peeked out from over the top of the tombstone which left the presence and movements of his pen and paper hidden from sight.

Graveyard

Subject: Unknown
Gender: Male
Height: Roughly - Five foot, eleven inches
Weight: Roughly - One hundred and seventy-five pounds
Appearance: Purple, maybe Indigo, neck-length spiky hairstyle. Cigarette.

***Side note: Standing over the grave of one, Ashura Akimichi Sukaikage

".. Uh, Huh?" With his head in his notes Setōshi popped his head up with a confused look upon his face as he took a moment to grasp what had been said by the man, in honesty he was surprised his presence was even acknowledged at all.

At the first instance of sound from either parties at the graveyard Nangyou came trotting over to its creators location, a grave look was written across its face after it exchanged a look with Setōshi before curling up into a ball at his feet. Throughout the graveyard the other projections did their own examples of falsely seeming to express feelings at the marked graves of those that had previously been alive yet held no relation nor experiences with the light phenomenon present. To the naked eye so long as the weather continued to be cloudless allowing all of the rays of the sunlight to shine down upon the area then the Setōshi ruse would go on to have a positive success rate, but other variables were currently present and he now he was forced to make a move that was not wanted. Confrontation…

"Just here to pay my respects to my dear old…" Setōshi would begin to say without actually having read the tombstone, thus a quick motionless glance down briefly interrupted his smooth speech pattern.

"Sakura Haruno-Uchiha" - He said pushing up off from the soft earth and assuming his full height, his left hand putting away his notebook within the inside lining pocket of his blue jacket as his right dusted the dirt debris off of his charcoal black pants. Like a pinball bouncing from bumper to bumper, Setōshi diverted his gaze from the tombstone back to the back side of the man who had not come to be known as of yet. Quite frankly, the man showed no significance than the commoners among the streets, not enough was gained as of yet to inquire more about him, thus the boy's lips closed together as they previously were.

Smoke erupted from the man's lit cigarette causing his forward facing appearance to masked even more than what had already been hindered by Setōshi facing the man's back. At this point neither knew of the other, this was certain, but as of now they had conversed, thus a world of opportunities and variables were present for the near future. Hidden by the lining of his coat the kanji that accompanied the first had been tapped by the last remnants of the light that had previously illuminated the end of his index finger, by the time the notebook was away and the hand withdrawn it was out having shown zero signs of its emission since the boy's arrival. It was safe to assume that a more cautious side had been approached by Setōshi Sōichirō.

Re: What Secrets Lie in Death? ( Satoru/ Shinigai...may be others?)

Post by Satoru The Calamity on Sat Feb 25, 2017 11:24 pm

The Day was about half way over , It was around the time that Satoru would visit his brothers grave, he did it every day since the day his brother died, he paid his respects, but today was a different day all together since the moment Satoru awoke he felt it.

It had been six years since the lost of both of his brothers, Shinigai, Ash, Ashura, And Kazuki, Not to mention their mother, Satoru was left alone, even his friends were gone, Anemone, They were all gone, Everyone most important in his life , they were all gone in a single night, a single action.

But today as Satoru reached his brother's graves, all of his friends, everyone he pretty much knew, there stood someone, a couple people actually , but one in Particular caught his eye, This man had something familiar about him, yet a difference as well, and Satoru got closer, he could clearly see the smoke, and the smell of it was the same from a time ago, Satoru knew the grave the man stood at, It was Ashura's, Pieces came together slowly, but Satoru hoped it was not true.

Satoru then started to walk around in a circle like a lion stalking prey before the lunge, Staring at this man, and it wasnt until he could see the face that did it finally click for him, It was his brother, Ashura, the hair was different, but Satoru knew his brother, and that Cigarette smoke that always floated around him, Satoru paused for a moment as he just stared in silence as he stared at his brother.

He did not want to believe it, he wouldnt, this was just some strange jutsu someone came up with and Satoru's Hands clenched, however he did not activate his Sharingan, which would easily tell him the truth, He stared at Ashura, looking to look at him in the eyes, waiting for the look back at him , that would tell him all he needed to do, And to get the man's Attention he would finally speak "What is this Madness?" He inquired waiting to catch his brothers eyes and attention.

Ah. Someone had noticed him but it wasn't the one he had openly wanted to come. The eyes slowly turned toward the first male, leering at him through the smoke before smiling," Respect for the dead? What an uncommon child you are to do something like this. The dead are here to rot and be forgotten...but they aren't now are they? Such a curious way of life isn't it?," his hands placed themselves onto the tombstone of Ashura for a moment, a small sigh leaving his lips followed by a trailing smoke which filled the air above him before slowly dissipating into the air. His words were about to slip from his tongue before the one, the piece he needed to be here had finally arrived. In this moment his hands would rest on top of one another, eyes trained on one specific area before the male had landed and moved in a circular formation.

The question was asked and it caused a small smile to appear onto the face of Ashura," Madness? I'm just here to pay my respects to this man here. You know some people say there is no one in this grave. Just a place marker for a fallen hero but you...Already know this don't you? The little brother of the Black Suikaikage, standing right here with a man whom he maybe will, maybe wont know? Concepts of morality escape me so you must forgive me if I sound a little...uncaring. Its been a VERY long day finding this village again after that big fight," His eyes wouldn't meet but with the smoke gone he would be able to get a good look at the man, and his hair. Everything had been different from that time, his body no longer his and transformed.

Ashura smiled and pointed at the two men in a non threatening manner," Riddle me this. A man stands in front of two people. One who might know something...another who is here by circumstance. Who is this? Who is in the grave? Is it your savior...or your demon? Well I for one like to...Oops one sec someone is trying to come out and say hi!," one of his hands had still been placed on the tombstone as he smirked and shook his head," Now now my dear partner...Its not time for a family reunion. I just came to see something. Where is he...oh what was his name. Oh right! Where is Shinigai? I'm sure he would love to be in on this...Seeing it was his fault in a weird way that this village fell before. Anyone know where I can find...him," the grin turned into a wicked smirk as he snapped his fingers and remembered," Now lets also be frank here. This is a friendly visit, but there are ...hazards in place if someone just so happened to want to fight me. You know..That one birdy that was kept around here is looming somewhere over the horizon of the actual village. So let's play nice alright~?," the wink was to the both of them, but he was sure no one would try anything. After all...A ghost always had a contingency plan.

Re: What Secrets Lie in Death? ( Satoru/ Shinigai...may be others?)

Post by Setō on Sun Feb 26, 2017 7:15 pm

Alas, after a brief silence and the flash of a smile,  Setōshi was given a response and of all the words spoken only one peeked the interest of the young man. "Uncommon". Was it that obvious? How different could he be if there was nothing that could identifiably set him apart from a physical  standpoint? Then, it hit him. Experience was what set him apart from others, maybe not of this world or dimension, but through having lived through multiple lifetimes prior to the current. So, was this it?.. A minor relief to him, it was not… A cog in the system of the concept of his ruse had been believed, thus its effect only struck a note within him that he had not intended on experiencing. Bouncing back rather quickly, Setōshi went on to catch the rest of what the man was.

..Geez… He asks a lot of rhetorical questions… Oh wait!.. Does he actually expect me to answer him?... Ugh!!! This is why I had confrontation and conversing with people on their terms… Nod and wave champ… - Without a word spoken Setōshi simply listened taking into account everything that was said whilst simply providing a nod and a wave in response when he was able to fit it into the continuous speech of the man.

At last, there was a pause in the man's speech as he finished with a question. In many ways the kettle was calling the pot black, but then again, not directly and because of that Setōshi could understand more of the intent in him saying it at all. Once again, rhetorical, but it did hold a message that made the boy think a bit deeper. Sadly, he'd have to reserve such thoughts for his trip back down the road and over onto the other road leading to the Sukaikage's Building because of the arrival of another person, thus raising the population of the living to three despite nine perceivable bodies being present. ..Hmm… Who is this?.. Having been put into thought by the man's philosophy on life Setōshi came second to the very same man in who had become aware of the graveyard's newest arrival. A connection between the two in the sense that they had previously known one another was immediately recognized by the hooded boy, but whether this connection was one still intact or a severed one was what pressed on Setōshi mind. Being a casualty of someone else's war was not something that he wanted to experience again, yet if there was more to be learned then it should because at this point not one but two subjects were available to be studied…

Rows upon rows of tombstones lay across the graveyard, yet miraculously the newcomer managed to come in from the boy's left side and complete a full half of a circle around the other side of the man whose eyes were set on him before he came to a stop. With not being the subject of focus, at the same time Setōshi withdrew from the inside pocket of his hooded blue jacket his personal journal once more, the front of it was still marked with the same two kanji as mentioned before. Setōshi position just off center of the line created by the two men was reminiscent of the constellation of Orion's Belt, his positioning prime for documenting the interaction between the two as things began to heat up with the first words spoken. By who? The newcomer of course, a sign that Setōshi noticed right away prompting to further believe in his hypothesis. The eyes of the living were transfixed on just that, living targets, thus the holographic apparitions of chakra dissipated after walking out of normal viewing ranges for humans without having been noticed. The exception being the projection of the dog whose form remained at its creator's feet, man's best friend was capable and would have no choice but be willing to protect its master, he would be sure of it. As for the rest of the projections in a place such as a graveyard if ever noticed their disappearances would no doubt bring forth an eerie feeling tied to a deeper sense of belief in ghosts demonism and the supernatural world, to Setōshi this was simply a byproduct of conserving his chakra, but if it aided in his overall showmanship then he was all for it.  For now, a documenter he would have to be.

Graveyard

Subject Two: Unknown
Gender: Male
Height: Roughly - Five foot, five inches
Weight: Roughly - One hundred and twenty-five pounds
Appearance: Sandy Brown short hair style, body type - defined, yet slim.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Unknown 2: "What is this Madness" - **Side Note: Definitely likes looking in Unknown 1's eyes, trying very hard - WHY???

Unknown 1: "I'm just here to pay my respects to this man here. You know some people say there is no one in this grave." - **Side Note: Contradicting himself? OR is he "Uncommon" also? / Where is the Sukaikage???

Unknown 1: "Little Brother of the Black Sukaikage" - **Side Note: Black Sukaikage??? More research needed…

Unknown 1: "Its been a VERY long day finding this village again after that big fight"

With the smoke cleared the royal blue spheres in the sockets of Setōshi's head were able to make out the appearance of the man that had unintentionally stricken up conversation with him. With a finger pointed in both his and the foreign man's direction the boy's head slightly cocked to the side in confusion as he dropped his note wielding hand down by his side. From the man's speech Setōshi was able to identify which of he two people he was referenced as, but as to who was in the grave he had but the slightest idea outside of that it could possibly be deprived of an actual body. With this mindset he grew even more confused when a choice between the answer being a Savior or Demon was interrupted by a quick spasm of the man, such a weird act of human nature caused Setōshi's emotionless face to be granted with a raised right eyebrow prompting those who dared to view him to believe that he was either annoyed at the man's riddles or concerned for his well being. ..A shift in personality?.. He thought before jotting down more of the conversation.

Unknown 1: "Where is Shinigai?" - **Side Note: Research who Shinigai is…

Unknown 1: "That one birdy that was kept around here is looming somewhere over the horizon of the actual village." - **Side Note: Birdy?.. At these heights?..

Setōshi's attention was divided between what was being jotted down by his finger and what was going on between the two men, he could tell that things were starting to get heated up even before the mention of being frank ever occurred, thus a third kanji was added to the pages of the personal journal in addition to the two on its cover. The kanji for the word "Sight" ( 視界, Shikai) was written on the cover alongside a different kanji for the word Projection( 投影, Tōei), but the kanji written within the inner pages was that which represented the word Record (記録, Kiroku). Having been written by the pencil tip sized light illuminating from his index finger the kanji began to illuminate with a  dim light of the same color, in the current lighting of the world with the sun being out the light cast by the kanji would go unnoticed under normal human eye conditions. Of the three kanji that had been conjured for the day only two were in use, the light show phenomenon was proving to be the current perfect ruse, but the purpose of the second active kanji had its root held in the truth as opposed to deceit. Experience is what he had under his belt whether it was believed or not, thus he could not live with himself if his own contingency plan wasn't set into motion.

The magnitude of what the situation could become played out under different conditions with a plethora of results effected by just as many variables had become realized by Setōshi, this prompted the restoring of his personal journal within the inside lining of his jacket. His existence as it was currently known by either parties was miniscule in comparison to the ones before him, how the tide would turn if the truth of the matter was ever revealed was something that Setōshi was having trouble putting a finger on, but for the time being he lazily kicked up a leg over the other and the youth bent over with both of his elbows resting on the top of the headstone with his hands cupping the frame of his face. Both sets of index fingers began to twist the bangs framing his face around them, a reference to winding up the reel used in projectors… Roll film, his eyes were now the camera and the interaction of the scene in front of him would make for a cinema with raw emotion the likes of which the world had yet to see…

Satoru's Jaw clenched after hearing everything, that was confirmation enough for him, and when asked about Shinigai, Satoru would point to a grave just on the other side of the grave that marked the empty one for the man that stood before him "Shingai had parished with the fall of village like you were supposed to have had" Water formed in his eyes, for those that knew Satoru, this was common place for him, as he was very emotional since he was a kid.

He was no longer alone, his brother was standing right here, and after a moment of silence from what he spoke he asked him "Where have you been?" Almost in a whisper, waiting to hear his brothers words, Needing to hear them, as this all was important to him, and could very well shape his very future.
