The curse of Jashin

Post by White Rose Dragon on Wed Jan 25, 2017 4:56 pm

• Name: The Curse of Shared Death.
• Rank: S Rank
• Type: Physical
• Cool Down: Once per topic, continuous until ritual is completed.
• Description:

Jashin, The God of Chaos and misfortune only wants one thing from his followers; to spread death and destruction wherever they go. Jashin is not interested in a large amount of worshipers, and those who form a covenant with them, although few in number, do so for a lifetime. Jashin’s deal works in a mutualistic manner: he bestows immortality and the gift of a curse to his followers, in return that they regularly perform the killing ritual as a sacrifice.

The ritual consists of three parts: The Preparation, The Killing and The Prayer.

The preparation:

The preparation is decided into two parts, 1. The symbol and 2. The connection.

The Jashinist must take their own, fresh blood from a recently opened wound and use it to draw the Symbol of Jashin on the ground. How the symbol is drawn doesn't matter, but it must be a circle with a triangle inside of it. The radius of the circle is 4 feet.

The User must ingest the blood of their intended target. Any amount of blood will work. Once done, the user's body turns a jet black color, with the white linings resembling a skeleton. This change lasts until either the ritual kill is completed, or the taste of blood leaves the Jashinists mouth(Approx. 45 minutes). While in this form, and on top of the symbol, the connection is completed, and any damage done to the Jashinist is shared with the victim.

Only one symbol can be drawn per victim. The user cannot retreat and later draw a new symbol if one was already done. The order of these conditions does not matter.

[OOC, attempt evidence for the above, kind of hard to make sense of it. After Hidan killed asuma, his body didn't revert to the flesh colors. His body returned to its normal tone after dealing the killing blow but before Asuma had fully passed.Yet, while playing dead after the ritual was done (or being done) on another, he was back to his flesh tone. He remarked “After I finish with my ritual” showing that he was still in the middle of the prayer while no longer in his black/white tone.]

[Attempt evidence #2, when facing Asuma, Hidan drew the symbol before ingesting the blood, and when the ritual was done to Kakuzu, ingesting happened before the symbol was drawn.
In summary, idk.]

The Killing:

The damage done to the user while both the preparation is completed and the conditions are being continuously met. If either of the conditions are broken, the connection is voided temporarily, until their are met again.

Any damage done to the Jashinist, either self inflicted or taken by another, is linked equally to the victim of the curse. If a hole were to appear in a lung for the Jashinist, as would one for the victim respectively. A slow and painful death is permitted, as is a quick one. After the killing is concluded, the user must proceed, if possible, to the third stage of the ritual.

Jashinist feel the pain, included the immense feeling of another's death while connected, but can still move about, although uncomfortably, as if the wound weren't there. If the Jashinist cannot proceed to the prayer, they must later ask for forgiveness from Jashin.

[Attempted prove of the above #3, Hidan was able to move about almost as well as before, even though he had stabbed himself through the leg. The same injury left asuma limping. The same was true after Hidan inflicted a killing blow onto Asuma.]

[#4, The other proof, although not as strong, is from the Naruto Wiki, stating that the Jashinist would pray for a good kill and for forgiveness if they were unsuccessful.]

The Prayer:

Although not a necessity, Jashin requests that his followers, when possible, pay their respects with this conclusion of the ritual. That is to lie in the circle, as if dead, for half of a day, while contemplating about the killing that had just occurred. Also, acknowledging the gift of immortality that was given to them and maintained through the Ritual, and hoping that the next kill will be a ‘good kill.’

If this part of the ritual is not met, there is no issue, as it's more of a matter of courtesy and respect to Jashin. If it cannot be met, simply asking for forgiveness will suffice. The body of the cursed cannot be moved during this time, else the prayer is broken. Speaking is permitted, but moving breaks the prayer.

[Attempt evidence #5, after killing the jinchuriki he was able to perform the prayer while talking. Same is true for Asuma's friend, although it was heavily implied that Kakuzu wouldn't let him finish after he had picked up the body to be traded. He was later, unable to complete the prayer for Asuma, but still clearly had the gift of immortality and could still use the curse.]

• Requirements: Jashinist.
