Creepy Carbon Dude vs. The Glass Canon [Private]

Post by Roku on Sun Jan 22, 2017 3:25 am

“Sukaikage, Sukaikage, Sukaikage!!”

“Jokikage, Jokikage, Jokikage!!”

“Kage… Kage… Kage…”

The chanting of the crowd in the arena began to blend together in Roku’s thoughts as the words somehow didn’t manage to make it in one piece to his brain. The sound was deafening. He looked up. There were thousands of people surrounding him, on all sides. He smiled, waving. He spoke, his voice being amplified through the use of jutsu by the proctors. “The grace of the Sky flows inside me. I see, hear, and feel each and every one of you. Right down to your heartbeats. It rings in my ears, loud.” His voice elevated, excitement claiming his eyes. “But tonight, it will be deafening! I’m going to give you a fight that you’ll NEVER FORGET!!!”

Roku and some other Fuuinjutsu and space-time specialists of the village designed this arena. The arena itself was nowhere near the village of Sukaigakure, and instead floated in the sky above the ocean on the other side of the planet. It took its shape as a more or less circular floating island. The special thing about this arena was that there was a donut-shaped construct in Sukaigakure that could fit this island perfectly in the center. It was more or less the seating and concessions part of a sports stadium, but it had no actual field or court. Instead, a space-time jutsu is employed that makes it seem as if the arena, the island, was inside the hole of the donut shaped stadium.

So, when Roku looked at the faces in the crowd, it seemed as if they were right there, whereas in actuality they were thousands of miles away. This kept them safe from any jutsu used in the fight. This was demonstrated as proctors fired a multitude of jutsu at the crowd and, while seemingly hitting spectators, the jutsu actually had no effect on them or their surroundings. However, another demonstration showed that jutsu had real effect inside the arena, as the proctors fired jutsu at each other, doing what looked like severely injuring each other. Unbeknownst to the crowd, however, exiting the arena would completely heal them, even from death. Nothing that happened to anyone inside this arena was permanent.

The Sukaikage took in his surroundings. It consisted of two sections. The west side, which is where the Sukaikage stood, was mostly clear and full of grass with a lot of rock formations for cover but with little to no variation in altitude or anything of the sort. The east side was clogged in a rather disgusting swamp with murky waters and witchly looking trees. The trees weren’t especially thick, however, and they had mud all over their bases matching the rest of the swamp. On the edges of the island, it simply dropped off into nothingness.

Roku stood valiantly in the middle. Katsuo was instructed to attack from anywhere and Roku had no idea where he was. Roku was to await for Katsuo’s surprise attack as he was supposed to symbolize the defense of the village. This fight was staged to raise money for Sukaigakure in the final stages of its reconstructions, and Katsuo had gladly volunteered to be Roku’s opponent. Roku wore baggy black pants and the upper half of a black kimono on top. Across his back, hanging from his left shoulder to his right hip, was the Black Blade. From his right shoulder to his left hip hung his old ANBU Katana. Beneath his clothing was also his old ANBU Armor. And finally, holding his old ANBU Captain mask in his left hand, he put it on his face, as now, as Sukaikage, he was no longer an ANBU and was perfectly allowed to reveal his old identity as an ANBU. And now, Roku waited.

He heard the chanting. He didn't mind it; He was laying in the swamp, smoking a cigarette. He saw that Roku just stood there, and  he could respect it. It wasn't the smartest thing to do, especially with how strong Katsuo was. Katsuo, however, was not going to underestimate Roku. That, in itself, would be the death of him. Katsuo, among other things, was not an idiot. He was a guy who stayed up long nights and had absolutely insane levels of strength when it came to ninjutsu, and immense stamina. These are his blessings that, with his personality, were put to use. After all, he had the pleasure of fighting Roku. Roku was a good ninja, and an even better man. However, that didn't matter in a straight on fight. Straight fights were what Katsuo was good at.

As he got up from the swamp water, he groaned. He was good at what he did, but Roku was the only one that he knew of that could match him somewhat in ninjutsu, so he couldn't just rightly hold back on the guy. If he did, it'd be awfully rude. Not only that, it could very well mean the death of the Jokikage as he knew it. Sure, he'd only be dead for a small amount of time. That's not what mattered. What mattered is the here and now.

As the giant of a man rose from the water, an audible gasp could be heard from the crowd. While Roku wore a garment that indicated that he was ready for battle, the only that different from Katsuo's normal garb was that he wasn't wearing his hat. That's how you knew he was taking it serious. He took off the hat and had left it back in Joki. This just meant he had his hair out for show, which was clearly matted down by swamp water.

He charged his chakra into his palm, and looking at Roku, thought about it. After a few moments-no- a few seconds of thinking, he wound his arm back and threw the blast out. The wave hit the trees immediatly, making them break and crash. This was sure to warn Roku that the blast was coming, but that wasn't the question. The question was, could Roku dodge it in time, or was the match all in vain? Either way, Katsuo was ready. The trees broke and the invisble was ran after Roku; although not actually. It just went in Roku's direction.

Katsuo, however, would not move from his swamp. He liked it there.

The roaring of the crowd was the most evident and it was Roku's first indication that something was about to happen. On that indication alone, Roku should have activated his Byakugan. In fact, it was very much a possibility that he should have activated the moment he finished his little speech to the residents of Sukaigakure and to the visitors from Jokigakure. It was quite silly that, at this point, the man still hadn’t activated the technique that would immediately rid Katsuo, the Jokikage, of his most obvious and immediate advantage. Was it confidence or stupidity? Or did he have some sort of plan? Or did he just forget he even had access to such an ability?

The next indication that Roku should be activating his Byakugan came from behind him, from within the swamp. It was the sound of trees breaking, their enormous and seemingly invincible trunks snapping in half like twigs. That was a sound familiar to Roku, a sound that Roku himself had created countless times. It was a sound that indicated that his opponent had access to some immensely powerful jutsu. Which was, yet, another sign that Roku should activate his Dojutsu. But the Black Mask wasn’t ready for that yet. He wanted to please the crowd, and make the fight as exciting as possible, and now simply wasn’t the most exciting time that he could employ such an ability.

Regardless, it was time for the man to move. He still hadn’t turned around to face his opponent, but by the sound of the jutsu colliding with so many trees, Roku judged it to be immensely large. But he was one of the faster ninja that he knew of, so clearing it from the range that the two were at wouldn’t be an issue. In fact, that was an advantage that Roku was hoping to have in this fight, as raw power, his usual advantage, didn’t seem to be as obvious an advantage for him. Strategy, however, was going to have to wait, as the technique had cleared perhaps the first 20 meters of the 75 meters that Roku judged the initial sound of a tree breaking to have come from.

His back still facing his opponent, Roku’s body leaned to the left and his right foot extended. Dirt flung into the air in a trail behind the Sukaikage as he hurtled to his left, Katsuo’s same left. Katsuo now being to Roku’s left as the Black Mask had turned to his left to outrun the technique, Roku finally glanced in that direction. Roku just barely beat the technique around the edge, and, as he managed to make it to safety, while still running, followed the technique with his head, to see that it reached all the way to the other side of the arena, and he made a mental note of its size and extensive range.

After clearing the edge of the technique, Roku turned once more to his left, the change in momentum once again flinging dirt into the air, as Roku was, at this point, hurtling full speed in the direction of the Jokikage, whose location was, by no means, masked. All he really had to do was follow the literal path of destruction. Broken, fully matured trees laid scattered across the battlefield and a deep rut in the grass created by the technique Roku had just dodged drew a path perfectly to Katsuo. The path tapered toward inwardly in the last fifty feet or so toward the Jokikage, telling Roku that the technique didn’t begin as large as it ended up becoming.

At this point, Roku himself was around fifty feet from Katsuo and he reached to the Black Blade in sword form that was slung across his back. After grabbing it, Roku held it in his left hand over his head in a form that was nothing like the first, but rather, in the form of a spear that was about two meters long. Stopping at 50 feet from Katsuo, Roku hurled the spear at the other man. Using his chakra, the spear hurtled much more quickly than it usually would, and it was now coated in a black chakra that, if it were to hit Katsuo, would destroy the organic matter that made up his body and pierce directly through it, aimed at the man’s stomach.

  • S-Rank Ability Slot
    • Name ;; Tansosousa: Eradicate
    • Rank ;; S-Rank
    • Requirements;; Bukijutsu spec (to use), Tansosousa KKG (so it doesn’t harm the user)
    • Description/Abilities;; This ability is very similar to one of Roku’s jutsu.  There is constantly a dark black chakra reverberating from the blade slightly.  This chakra, as part if the Enzoka Clan’s Kekkei Genkai, Tansosousa, completely eradicates any and all Carbon Compounds that it comes into contact with, except those that are a part of someone who wields the Tansosousa Kekkei Genkai.  This means that the blade literally cuts through the air, destroying Carbon Dioxide and other Carbon Compounds, but it is important to keep in mind that compounds that make up living beings are Carbon Compounds.  This is only applicable to substances in which Carbon makes up a significant portion, as it doesn't work on steel, which almost never contains more than 2.1% Carbon. This has a duration of up to 4 posts, which is interrupted if the user uses chakra on anything other than this weapon's abilities.  The cooldown for this ability is then equal to the duration it was active.
  • A-Rank Ability Slot
    • Name ;; Malleate
    • Rank ;; A-Rank
    • Requirements;; Tansosousa Kekkei Genkai, Bukijutsu
    • Description/Abilities;; By using a small amount of chakra, the user can freely change this blade between its two forms.
  • A-Rank Ability Slot
    • Name ;; Missile Projection
    • Rank ;; A-Rank
    • Requirements;; Bukijutsu, Tansosousa Kekkei Genkai
    • Description/Abilities;; When in spear form, if this weapon is thrown, the user can pay A-Rank amount of chakra to propel the spear forward using their chakra stat in combination with their speed and strength stats to determine how fast the spear actually moves.  The range for this is equal to half the user's chakra stat, at which point, physics take over and drop-off begins.  Damage is increased by the user's chakra stat within the first half of this range, and then by half within the second half of the range.
  • A-Rank Ability Slot
    • Name ;; Extreme Parry
    • Rank ;; A-Rank
    • Requirements;; Bukijutsu, Tansosousa Kekkei Genkai
    • Description/Abilities;; When sword form, the user can block and parry incoming attacks (but not attack themselves) with their chakra stat rather than their strength stat as the user truly becomes one with their weapon. This does not give the weapon any additional defensive properties and it acts just like it would if chakra were not involved.
  • A-Rank Ability Slot
    • Name ;; Repair
    • Rank ;; A-Rank
    • Requirements;; Bukijutsu, Ninjutsu
    • Description/Abilities;; If the weapon is damaged in any way, the user can repair it to full use.  This cannot be used to repair two halves of the same broken weapon to create two working, separate weapons.  When damage is taken to the weapon in one form, the other form will not be damaged, but the damaged form will retain its damage even if the form is changed. This can only be done once per topic for each form, and cannot be done until it has been damaged for at least one of the user's posts, and will be fully repaired at the beginning of the post after which the repair began.

Katsuo figured that he'd play this game. Chances were, that black blade was enchanted with some kind of jutsu, and that he wouldn't be able to block the spear with his chakra shield. He still had to make an effort. He launched the chakra shield, faster then most people would be able to, and watched the spear go straight through and end up in the dirt behind him. He felt pain, but there wasn't much of it. It was akin to a pressure that Katsuo couldn't rid of. Bugger the pain. Katsuo stayed standing, his stance shifting slightly. He had a smile on his face. This wasn't the end of this fight. Not yet. He grit his teeth, smiling. This is how this game was gonna be played? He was okay with that. Since the spear was in the ground behind him, he had elected to take advantage of that.

First, he did the handsigns required and then slammed his hand into the earth, turning it into an adhesive mud 30 feet around him in every direction. Next, an earth golem arose from the mud, standing 10 feet tall. It ran at Roku just as fast as Roku might go. It was a giant rock golem that fed off Katsuo’s chakra, and he just had enough to make it a monster. The rock monster stood at the 15 foot mark in the pit, ready to either stop Roku or Kill Roku. Any movement Roku did, the monster would react; meanwhile, he had to formulate a plan, or else he was dead. The rock monster, while strong, would only serve him as long as he could manage to either keep it standing, or stand himself.

“Stabbing me through the stomach with your sword-spear was kinda rude, wasn’t it? Time for me to be rude.”

He’d stand back up, behind the golem, and smile a somewhat broken and twisted smile. Long ranged battles were his speciality, and there was no one that was gonna take this away from him. He was Katsuo, a ninjutsu specalist who manages to become the strongest ninjutsu user, and no one was taking that away from him. Not another kage, no one. He was him, and they were them. They might have other skills, but dammit. Just because he didn’t strive to be the best didn’t mean that he didn’t like the idea of it.

He had to thank Stein for the EGF though.

Roku Enzoka, Sukaikage

When the Black Blade pierced directly through Katsuo's stomach and the man wound up lying on the ground, a smirk spread across Roku's face as, at this point, he was quite sure he'd won. That said, it could be understood why Roku nearly freaked out when the Jokikage stood back up, seemingly unfazed by a two meter long blade flying directly through his stomach and piercing the ground behind him. It was inhuman to be able to recover from an injury like that. But, then again, in all his travels, something Roku learned was that it was not all that uncommon for ninja to lose some of their humanity in search of power.

In fact, each village had at least a few warriors who had some characteristics that made them seem a bit unnatural. Sukaigakure's very own Azir Rose, for example, worshiped a god called Jashin who granted him immortality for the sake of killing in his name. Roku still wondered about that individual, unsure of his stability and unsure of his ability to keep the village safe, not from outside threats but from Azir Rose himself. But the man had made his way to Jounin and had not given Roku a reason to distrust him yet, so Roku took no action on it.

The thing that Roku needed to find out, however, was whether this was a jutsu that healed his foe, a jutsu that stopped him from experiencing pain, or something that made him immortal, such as the Sukaigakure Jounin named Azir Rose. Whichever the answer was, all of them usually shared a single weakness; the brain. An immortal man is not an invincible one, and Azir Rose could be defeated by damaging the brain enough that it stopped all activity, a man who healed would be killed by brain damage as he would lose his ability to control chakra, and a man who felt no pain could be killed in any way a normal man could, brain included. So that was Roku's strategy, and he knew exactly how to execute it.

But he was a patient man. Roku observed as Katsuo performed his defensive jutsu, keeping in mind the visible chakra armor that the man had already summoned. His Black Blade was capable of piercing the armor, but Roku was unsure if it was because of the massive amount of force it carried, because of his Tansosousa: Eradicate, because it was a piercing type weapon, or any combination of the three. And that put Roku at somewhat of a disadvantage, as he neither understood the nature of the technique that allowed the man to recover after having just been impaled with a spear, nor the defensive capabilities of that chakra armor.

The other two jutsu that the Jokikage summoned were going to be an issue as well. Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld was a technique that Roku recognized all too well, a technique requiring a massive amount of strength to escape as it acted almost like quicksand, trapping its targets by binding their feet with chakra. The other jutsu Roku didn't recognize, but he assumed that a ten foot tall man made of rock had some sort of destructive capability, and the Sukaikage felt it unnecessary to test the accuracy of that thought.

None of those defensive capabilities mattered in this moment, however, because they were purely defensive maneuvers, and Roku wasn't going to attack using his body. His Black Blade in spear form lay behind Katsuo still, and that blade had one of his Hiraishin seals on it. However, Roku wasn't going to teleport to it, but rather teleport his weapon to it. There was no need, in these circumstances, to put his body at risk when he had a tool that could do the job perhaps more efficiently than he could.

With that thought, still standing fifty feet away from the other man, out of range of any of his defenses, Roku acted. He withdrew a black kunai, different from most any kunai that he had ever seen, with his left hand. His Hiraishin seal was placed on the hand guards, and that allowed him a monstrous number of capabilities. Roku threw the kunai, a motion so fast that many couldn't even process what it meant before they lay dead on the ground, but when it left its master's hand, it disappeared. And, of course, unless Katsuo could somehow see through the golem, none of this was visible to him, as the giant rock man stood between the two.

The kunai would reappear behind Katsuo where Roku's Black Blade was marked with his Hiraishin seal, all three of the kunai's abilities in full use, the blade hurtling at a speed that Roku couldn't even completely follow. Its destructive power was increased by two things, the first being the increased speed of the kunai, and the other being the increased sharpness of it through the use of Roku's wind chakra. The kunai was aimed at the back of its target's head, and with the Black Blade pierced into the ground, the kunai had an upward trajectory so that if it managed to pierce through both Katsuo and the man of stone, it wouldn't strike Roku. If all went according to plan, Katsuo would lie dead in a moment with either a gaping hole through his head or Roku's kunai embedded into it.

Katsuo was blissfully unaware of what Roku was doing, but it wasn't like he didn't have his own plan. Using the fission technique, there was suddenly two Katsuo's behind the rock golem. He made explicitly sure that he couldn't be seen doing this, so that when Roku inevitably acted his plan, he could counter it. Katsuo watched as the clone of him, which he made stand in the same spot, get annihlated. He was fine with this, considering that he wasn't dead. He figured that Roku was viscious, but to go after him like that? That was wild, and he was quite fine with that.

He couldn't quite intimidate Roku at this point; but it didn't matter. All that mattered was what happened next. He took a deep breath as he did three hand seals. He spit out fire from his mouth, the stream swiftly enlargining as the jutsu went on. It would go for 70 meters, and go directly at Roku. The fire itself would go over his clone, which was lying dead on the ground. The fire, however, would not go over Roku. While considerably slower then his other jutsu, this jutsu was being used a lot closer to Roku and that meant a lot more painful.

• Cool Down;; User can separate the clone once per topic.
• Description ;;
The user splits everything in half with their clone, the clone taking half of the user's elements (If an uneven number, the user may decide where the element whether the element goes to the Original or the Clone.) The clone takes all Jutsu belonging to that element with them, preventing the Original from using them, Vice Versa applies for the elements the original kept, they keep the jutsu that belonged to that element. For Jutsu with stages involved, the trained stages will be cut in half, the majority staying with the user if at an uneven number, and is split between the two as long as it is not an elemental technique (The jutsu's stages will still be cut down by half regardless of the clone getting it due to them being weakened.) When it comes to stats, all fields will be cut in half, the majority going to the user.

The user does not require handseals to perform this technique, the clone can come from the user whenever. All items on the user can be distributed freely between the clone and the user at creation, none of them being cloned. 100 Kunais split between the two could go to the Original or the Clone, or split between them 50/50. If the clone, or the original dies off, the other is not. If the body is intact, they may rejoin with the lost clone and remerge with it to regain all the clone had with a penalty of -25% of their stats in each category, same applies for the clone rejoining the original in the case of the original dying. Both the clone and the original cannot use this technique while separated. The clone can remain indefinitely, the jutsu only being canceled when the two rejoin. There is no range that the clone has to the original. The clone, as well as the original, can learn new jutsu, and when they rejoin, the user will have all the learned jutsu. Re: Creepy Carbon Dude vs. The Glass Canon [Private]

Post by Roku on Wed Feb 08, 2017 2:20 am

The squelch was an obvious sign that his kunai had struck flesh, and that was made even more clear by the mixture of cheers and cries of anguish roared from the crowd. The show hadn't lasted long, but they obviously had seemed to love what they'd seen, suddenly cheering even louder, the cries of anguish even being transformed to match the pure thrill of the environment. The Sukaikage loved this excitement, knowing that the amount of money pulled through the event would be quite substantial indeed, maybe even enough to completely finish the repairs on Sukaigakure.

Only after that thought did Roku realize that the cheering wasn't at all to commend him on his quick work of the Jokikage, but rather to commend the Jokikage for his apparent survival of Roku's attack when a near-blinding light appeared from behind the giant golem in the form of an enormous flame whose destruction was bound to be immeasurable. The Black Mask had to dodge at that very moment, but at this range there was no way that his feet could carry him the necessary distance to do so.

His first instinct being the Flying Thunder God, Roku realized that both seals on the battlefield were within Katsuo's defensive perimeter and that he'd have to teleport to one of them, he chose the kunai, believing it was still embedded in or in the hands of Katsuo, and that he'd be ready for an immediate strike, one that the Jokikage more than likely wouldn't expect.

So that was the action that would be taken by the elite ninja, disappearing from in front of the blast of fire and reappearing behind it, but the manner in which he did so surprised even him, as he was now standing on top of Katsuo while he looked at a standing Katsuo, the former dead and the latter alive, with his Kunai embedded into the back of the head of the former. He wasn't sure if this was some type of clone technique or something else, because generally, clones dematerialized at death, but he made sure to remain standing on the body in an effort to avoid stepping into the consuming mud of Katsuo's defenses.

In preparation for his attack, Roku used Hiraishin Reverse Flight the moment he materialized, before even realizing the circumstances, to summon the Black Blade to his left hand in sword form, but failed to offer a particularly destructive attack because of the aforementioned circumstances, surprised and somewhat distracted in trying to figure out the secrets to the technique that had been used by Katsuo, and all he was able to do was offer a swift slash at the throat of the other individual, the harmful black chakra still enveloping the blade.

As he saw the blade coming, he wouldn't be fast enough himself to dodge it. Thankfully, he had the golem grab him and lift him away from the blade, and with him about five feet away, he knew what he had to do. Was he happy about having to do this? Not at all. Was he gonna deal with it later? Certainly, was he gonna be happy when he dealt with it? Probably not. He could do what he was about to do without a conscience, because he knew that once Roku was revived, he wouldn't be mad. Katsuo knew exactly what and why he had to do it. There wasn’t much a chance that Roku could dodge the coming thing, even with FTG, as although the effect was fast, it still had to get a proper distance away.

When Katsuo put his hand out and threw out his chakra concussive blast, he pretty much knew it was over. There was no way Roku could dodge this, even with all of his skills. Katsuo had to have brute forced his way through the battle, and he was fine with that. Brute force or not, he had to manage to beat this guy. Couldn’t make himself look weak in front of his fans, could he? He didn’t like fighting, but that never meant he was terrible at it. As seen by this battle, Katsuo wasn’t foreign to getting down and dirty, but he knew that he absolutely needed more speed if he were to even maybe combat the fury that was Roku in a less open arena.

“Jeez, this is the hardest I’ve had to try in forever.”

Roku Enzoka, Sukaikage

(I have been given permission to control Katsuo's character in this post so we can end this topic realistically.)

"Oh!!  I cannot believe he avoided that!!  It looks like maybe the Jokikage is getting weaker after that clone jutsu though, because his jutsu didn't do as much damage!  Did he use too much chakra?"

An announcers voice rang out from somewhere in the arena as Roku used his rotation technique to avoid damage from Katsuo's jutsu, knowing he didn't have enough time to dodge.  The technique, however, couldn't keep his feet planted on the ground and the Sukaikage was now hurtling at least fifty meters in the air.  Thinking quickly, wings sprouted from his back and the man stabilized himself midair, hovering in the sky, and he sent what appeared to be a spear made of dense air hurtling in Katsuo's direction that caused a massive explosion, only to be intercepted by the man of stone, obliterating one of its arms.

Roku then used what he thought was an opening to swoop in, still flying, and place a Gentle Fist strike in the back of Katsuo's head, but he was blindsided by the man of stone and suddenly a massive fist clipped Roku's ribs.  He reacted in enough time to avoid a direct hit but his ribs were still shattered and he couldn't breathe, telling him he probably had a punctured lung.  However, while he was still close, despite his injury he was able to send a Tansosousa: Eradicate in Katsuo's direction which was poorly aimed due to the fact that Roku was sent sprawling on the ground, and it only managed to separate Katsuo's arm beneath the elbow from the rest of his body.

Despite the injury that seemed rather significant, the Jokikage's arm was almost instantly reformed with what appeared to be black threads while the Sukaikage used Tansosousa: Regenerate to heal himself and regain his standing position.  Combat similar to this continued for the better part of an hour, both combatants repeatedly losing body parts and immediately regenerating them, fatigue hindering even the two individuals who were most immune to it in the world, both of them becoming incapable of using their most taxing jutsu, but still managing to cause significant damage to one another and then heal that damage.

Finally, after exactly an hour passed since the beginning of the fight, the announcer spoke of a time limit and announced that the two kage's fight was over, and that they'd be stepping out of the arena to be replaced by a battle royale between some Jounin from the two villages within a different landscape setting because this one was more or less blown to smithereens by the two present individuals.  The two shook hands and exchanged words of respect, but quickly removed themselves from the arena to allow the event to continue, their fight memorable but far from the finale.
