The WIll of Fire (Private, Flashback, Zettai & 16)

Zettai had never experienced pain like this before. His body felt like it was shutting down, but not before burning him worse than any flame he’s ever been licked by. This was insane. And people lived here?! It was so unbelievably cold in the land of Hyou that the 21 year old wondered if the people he met were going to be alive at all, and if so, were they monsters? Snow Wraiths? Gigantic Viking-like Entities? They must be all monsters, every last one of them. Stumbling through the snow, the inadequately-prepared Zettai attempted to clear his path with Grand Fireball Jutsu, but after performing the necessary seals and using the flamethrower variant to melt a path, it merely created a stream of scalding water that immediately froze him ankle-deep.
“This is it. This is how I die.”
He murmured, unable to process how the hell he was supposed to survive in this frozen wasteland.

Looking around, he was blinded by the sun’s rays magnified over countless layers of frost, ice, and snow. The glacier that was Hyou no Ki was vast and impressive, and nearly impossible to freely traverse. How anyone was supposed to invade this village was beyond him. He couldn’t even see a village. At the moment, all he saw in any direction was swirling snow over glimmering dunes. I need to find shelter. He thought, wondering if his Double-Suicide Decapitation technique would work in the snow and permafrost that made up the ground beneath him. If so, he’d be at least secure from the elements. But then he’d also be surrounded in pure coldness. His shivering intensified at the mere thought, and his teeth buzzed in his skull.

This is too much.. He thought, nearly tripping with every second step as he stumbled through the snow half-blind. I just want to be wrapped in heat, surrounded completely in a nice little fire. Or even warm water. A shower would be nice. Or maybe… wait. Drawing his hands together into several seals rapidly, he inhaled deeply before expelling a large quantity of smoke, ash, and dust into the air. Immediately, he felt a sensation of relief crawl down his side as the brutal wind’s attack was momentarily ceased. Well, this would be the ideal place to hide from anyone looking to use me again. I just need to be able to survive. His thinking was cut short as the impressive atmosphere of Hyou tore his smoke apart, revealing him to the wind once more.

Suddenly, in the distance, he made out a snow-built hut. ”Yes!” Leaping into the air, he used the Light-Weight Rock technique to render himself weightless, floating along the breeze while using the occasional burst of fire chakra from his hand to stabilize himself and fight any stubborn gales. Barely making it to the hut before his energy was completely sapped, he sunk into the snow without attempting to catch himself, plummeting face first in front of the snow hut. Knowing that he wouldn’t make it to the door, Zettai did the only thing he could think of. ”Forgive me. Please help me.” He murmured, before shooting the last of his chakra condensed into the smallest rendition of Grand Fireball jutsu he’s ever created.

Blowing a small hole in the door, the fireball unleashed the wind and snow from outside to the inside. Hopefully that would draw the attention of the occupant who would come to his aid. If not, well, at least he would know that no person got the best of Zettai Tekina, it took the whole power of the planet to put him down.

The weather could only be described as cold; however, Kaigen was not cold. In fact he was underground. If it was one thing about underground access tunnels, it was that he usually made them when he needed shelter. He rarely ever used ninjutsu anymore. The Uzumaki usually relied on his taijutsu, and that was only because of his memory issue. Moving on to the story, the location Kaigen was currently stationed at was deep underground. It did take a little fire to create a spot, then dig deep under it to create something. He built a home. An underground home that had many tunnels leading to multiple different things. How he got there? simple, he'd been tracking a lead on a fierce taijutsu master in the village nearby; however, by the time he got within range of the village he found out the master had died years ago.

He was on foot when he traveled to the lands of cold lethal weather, but he knew he wasn't going to be able to handle the weather leaving. So he blew the hardest fire technique he could into the ground before diving under it. That was how he managed to get underground, and without paying attention to the time, he'd already been underground for a month. A month? over thirty days; however, within the days of the lost, he'd manage to create a tunnel for himself that leads to the nearest village. He began robbing the village for whatever supplies he needed. He perfected a mass bunker that allowed him to live alone and within some form of comfort. The home he built for himself, time he used to mold it, and efforts into creating his own personal heaven was used for one thing - training. Kaigen made a very interesting hut for the purpose of shelter for others, a certain enterance/exit route, and a beacon for just encase anyone, especially himself, got lost.

So while the lone stranger was outside dying he was inside safe, he had cameras inside of the hut's enterance. Kaigen was practicing his usual taijutsu stance when he looked up at the screen to see the hut's door blown a hole into. The physical reaction he mustered was just stopping what he was doing, mentally he expected ninja police to be either searching for someone, something, or some lead, but he knew he had to know more. The fact that no one opened the door gave Kaigen the feeling someone might be out there. It would be uncommon but considering the fact he couldn't really survive out in the snow it made sense to him. The Uzumaki moved quickly, from standing to sprinting, he dashed to the correct tunnel that lead him to a secret entrance inside the hut. In seconds he made it to the door. He had to risk the fact it could be a trap, and he knew he didn't have it in him to leave the lone stranger to die.

So he opened the door and burst forward to the lone stranger. Of course it was very small distance but he was moving at an urgent pace. He reached to grab the guy's right arm and place it around his own shoulders. If it was a success, Kaigen would use himself as a crutch and push them both into the hut, and afterwards closing the door behind him. The hut wasn't the concern. They made two turns while in the house before they ended up in front of a tunnel entrance. He knew he had to close it behind them, but before he did - he finally decided to speak to the man he was helping. "You alright? Can you walk? I need you to trust I am going to keep you alive. Can you do that?"

Zettai would never admit to this in his life, but the warmth of being in this man’s arms saved his life. As the slightly younger shinobi lifted him to his feet and supported him, Zettai felt a heat rush into him. It gave him energy and shook the fog from his mind. With that little bit of synchronicity between his body and mind, his chakra was able to naturally start generating. A chain reaction started inside of him, the production of chakra increasing his natural temperature to the point that he could produce more chakra. He found his eyes fluttering open as he was drug through the doorway, blackness closing in around him. He could feel it in the way that he was being supported -- there was no intention of harm here. It relaxed him slightly too much, and he felt his knees slightly give way beneath him.

Resolving himself to stand on his own two feet, he gently placed his palm on the manboy’s chest and pushed him off. Heaving himself into a stand, he nearly groaned at the pain that shot through his body. His skin felt like it was on fire once more as it started to thaw from the near-frostbitten state it was in. Clenching his jaw shut, he blinked his eyes a few times to adjust himself to the darkness that was the tunnel’s pre-entrance cave. It was magnificent. There was no snow and wind blowing in his face; it was heaven. ”I can trust that.” He said, drawing up the energy to speak. Perhaps it was too much. Dizzy, he placed a palm on the wall beside him to steady himself. ”Which.. way?” He asked, peering around. The dizziness was getting worse, and he didn’t know how long he’d be able to stay awake.

Zettai’s body was suffering from being out of his element. He had spent most of his life in the hot climate of Kazan, and this radical flip of the temperature was taking its toll on his body. He knew he’d have to sleep soon so he could properly regenerate his energy and mental state. It was like running a gauntlet on a week’s worth of missed sleep. Stumbling as he tried to focus, Zettai was surprised at how calm he felt. Normally, in the den of unfamiliar territory, the hair on the back of his neck would touch the ceiling. But not this time. Instinct told him he was with an ally. Logic agreed -- if the man wanted him dead, he would have left him outside. Bringing him inside meant he wanted him alive, and for good reasons or not, that currently made him an ally.

The Uzumaki had a very warm body temperature, so it was no suprise the stranger felt a spark of warmth between each others body. Kaigen for one could feel the cold embrace before getting them to the inside of the hut. Once inside the twin felt only a fraction of safe as he could when he got underground. Right now he was busy thinking the man leaning on him could die of frostbite. He had to get him to safety, fast. The weight was no problem for Kaigen, he thought about carrying the man, but he didn't know if he had internal injuries that could damage him even further.

The worse part was over, and now, Kaigen stood in front of, what would appear to be a small wall between house items, the secret entrance to the tunnel that would lead him - no them - to the home he built for himself at home. He didn't expect the stranger to speak to him so soon, even after he spoke first, but in a state of emergency it happens. He did not fare as bad as this man did some weeks ago, but it still made him feel deeply sad. The man finally released himself from Kaigen's clutch to stand on his own. No time was wasted. He had to hear the agreement that the stranger was getting himself into. Their identity was unimportant at the time, even despite his situation, Kaigen felt the need to have at least one good deed done for the day.

"Ahead." One word.

The wall felt cold. Not as cold as outside granted, but just cold enough for him to note the temperature mentally. The right hand placed just enough chakra for whatever the mechanics in the wall to actually move. The wall split in half, creating a space, just big enough for two people to enter at the same time. The secret door split was likely a cause of either earth ninjutsu or some kind of secret fuinjutsu. A three hundred-sixty spin to his injured stranger before cocking his head. The secret door lead to a long and wide earth tunnel - with candles already lit on both sides of the tunnel. The earth tunnel was much wider than the enterance itself, with a height that made it clear that the tunnel was crafted to perfection.

He stepped out of the hut and into the tunnel with a style of comfort and confidence. "The door will close soon. It's warmer where we're going." he paused. The facial expression he used in this situation couldn't be explained as hostile or sneaky, but more objective. Serious just enough to know he meant what he says, but not enough to think him to believe he was a hard ass. He was letting his guest of honor make their own choices. He didn't want to place any pressure on the guy in any kind of way. He wanted to keep him alive and safe, because fuck snow - that's why.
