Jinton - Dust Release

Post by The War Ender on Tue Jan 19, 2016 12:45 am

name ;; Jinton - Dust Release (Lit. Particle Release)
elements required ;; Earth, Wind, Fire
how is it made ;; Jinton is a combination of the above elements working in tandem to create an unstoppable force.
what can it do ;; All jutsu within the Jinton element perform basically the same function, with modification mainly affecting perimeter, intensity, and shape. Jinton is not capable of performing complex feats of control, nor is it intended to. Dust Release is a two-stage mechanic that requires time to prepare.

During the first stage, a basic geometric 3d shape is selected (such as a sphere or cone, this is determined by the specific jutsu but is a constant throughout all Jinton techniques), which is then encased in a thin, translucent barrier (the size and shape of which is also determined by jutsu). This barrier will Increase in size in an effort to better encompass the target. This size is preset, However, and once it has reached its maximum size it will lock in. After locking in, a durability stat 50% higher than the caster of the Jinton is required to break it. If the barrier is broken for any reason, the core object will fizzle out and the jutsu will cancel.

When the jutsu has completed its preparation, the core shape inside of the barrier will explode outwards in a violent display of power. Shattering and crumbling into particles, the core is reduced to nothing but dust which is then used to pulverize anything within the barrier until it has been completely eroded.

Both physical matter and chakra are completely destroyed. Once the jutsu has complete, the barrier will shatter and the contents will shatter harmlessly into the world. In order for an object or person to be immune to the effects of Jinton, it or they must meet several, if not all, of the following Requirements:

Possess a total of 50% more durability than the user casting Jinton's chakra stat.
Possess a Jinton-like ability capable of engaging it.
Possess an ability that provides the user with a full-body armor able to protect the user from all damage (by increasing their durability to 50% more than the user casting Jinton's chakra stat).

Like fire, Jinton ‘burns'. Once an object inside the barrier has begun to take damage from Jinton, it will only continue to get worse. The steady application of erosive force will end up completely demolishing the object through the weak point. For this reason, Jinton requires one have total immunity to fight against it.

One of the down-sides of using Jinton is its massive chakra cost. Any Jinton technique will require double the regular chakra cost for a technique of the same rank. Furthermore, all Jinton techs will require at minimum one post of charge-up in order to properly amass and shape this dense chakra.

strengths ;; No Inherent Strength, Jinton reacts with all elements equally.
weakness ;; No Inherent Weaknesses, Jinton reacts with all elements equally.
other requirements ;; Secret Knowledge of Kekkai Tota ‘Jinton' learned IC from a Jinton user (RPC, not NPC).

1. How does the chakra stat check work against the dust release attack? Is it just having that much more chakra prevents the attack from being effective? And if that's the case, shouldn't it be durability and not chakra?
2. When you talk about the object being complete within the barrier and all, how does that work with something like the ground. In canon, despite avoiding the references, Ohnoki used it against Sasuke and took a rather large chunk of earth with it as well. I like it for balancing purposes and all, but let me ask this, if you're using it against me and I am hiding behind a wall. Would you be able to hit me through the wall, or would the tech stop at the wall itself?
3. I'm not totally sold on the requirements or anything, so depending on how 1 is edited we may have to come back to that? The chakra stuff doesn't strike me greatly, maybe chakra+durability or something like that, so that it's more intuitive?
4. As for the full body armor, do you mean something like Susanoo? Or perhaps a reference for it so I know what you mean by it. And then how will Jiton act differently if that requirement is met?
5. Strengths, instead of see above add the elements (if any) that would be favorable against Jiton objects
6. Same for weaknesses in the reverse
7. On requirements, let's add something like, instead of secret knowledge, learn from a current Jiton user IC or something along those lines

So, everything seems good but as for the resist, let's not say +50%. I'll explain that when a weapon hits armor, if it's +50% in power, it shatters the armor, almost ignoring it completely. So in this instance, the +50% or what have you would be to completely resist it. At equal a weapon would take a few hits to break it depending on what it is, so let's cut out the 50% stuff.

Instead, can you re-write it like, The damage of the jutsu/power of the jutsu will be checked against the targets durability to determine how well they can resist it, if at all. Or something along those lines, I'll leave it at your judgement

(Also, let's go just durability, sorry about that)
