Kuchiyose Illusion

Post by Saya on Fri Jan 15, 2016 2:01 am

Name ;; Kuchiyose – Grand Illusion
Rank ;; S
Type ;; Genjutsu
Element ;; N/A
Range ;; 50m
Power ;; 5
Grip;; 5
Cool Down;; 5 posts
Description ;; Trigger: Victim must see the user form the hand seals, and summon the monster. The user makes a blood offering and then seals Serpent – Boar – Dog – Bird – Monkey – Ram.  After placing their hands on the ground, the illusion is cast.  A net of fuuin script appears before a burst of smoke reveals the summon.  The summon is not real, however those caught in the jutsu will feal very real pain from its attacks.  The mental trauma of being killed by the beast may well cause cardiac arrest in elderly, infirm, or other's with very weak hearts, however those slain by the beast will most often be rendered unconscious.  While this may leave long lasting psychological trauma, it deals no physical harm to their bodies.  The illusion otherwise affects all senses, and comes with sounds, the sensation of solidity when striking it or being struck by it, and even the pungent scent and taste of a carnivore. The illusion is detailed enough to include shadows, the illusion of breathing, and even bits of spit when it roars.  The ground can be made to tremble in its approach, and it leaves not even the finest detail out in creating this brutal monster.   While this genjutsu is active the caster has complete control over the monster's actions, however they caster must maintain some concentration on the beast while doing so. This genjutsu is only able to target a single person, Anyone besides the Caster and the Victim will be unable to see the beast summoned forth.

The illusionary monster must be terrifying, and at least 10 feet tall, but may be up to the size of a large bijuu.  It makes no use of jutsu, however all of it's physical stats are equal to the Power of this jutsu.  Saya's monster is typically a dinosaur about 20 feet tall but may be larger, with massive claws and a gaping maw full of sharp teeth.  It looks like it could swallow a victim whole, and if it does, the victim is quickly rendered unconscious.  The monster is relentless, and any damage done too it can be healed in the following rounds.  No matter how bad the wounds, the monster will remain, heal, and once more fight at full strength.  This is one of the few hints to those caught in the genjutsu that it might be illusion.
Requirements ;; Genjutsu spec – Be or learn from Saru Saya

I have a few things that need to be edited; though it seems to be a very well put together app, so nice job!

• Grip;; 5

This would be defined by the power stat. You don't need to give it's grip it's own stat. Going to need you to change that back to speed, because w/o that we wouldn't know how fast the beast can go.

Also; Going to need some form of a cooldown, this can't be a technique you can cast over and over again.

For clarifications sake, is this an AoE Illusion, does anyone within a certain area of you slamming your hands on the ground after performing the necessary hand seals see this beast? It'd need to be limited for as to what can see it, whether or not this specifically targets someone or not. Secondly, this being my understanding of Genjutsu, usually your target needs to pick up on what you're doing with one of their senses. if they cannot see you, hear you, smell you, feel you, or taste you doing this, then they shouldn't be caught under the Genjutsu. Maybe them seeing you Slap your hand on the ground can be your visual queue to activate the Genjutsu on anyone who sees it?

The mental trauma of being killed by the beast may well cause cardiac arrest in those with weak hearts,

Since this is going off of your Chakra stat in terms of power for the beast, go ahead maybe reword this to mention that it's Chakra vs Durability, rather than leaving it as vague as having a weak heart?

Revised, except the Grip part. Monster's stats are already addressed in the jutsu. Defined how many it could target, and cleaned up the part about the weak heart. This is just fluff, I can't imagine a shinobi that would die from shock.

So, now there is the issue of; what if multiple people see you performing/summoning the monster? Since you've stated only one can be your target.

And, what would happen if the Monster's Durability is completely overwhelmed by your target's strength? Would it still heal regardless? (Considering it's a Genjutsu, I'm mainly asking this for clarification. T'is fine regardless of the result.)

Only one person would see the monster, which would make this a terrible choice of jutsu against a crowd. People would be able to shake out of it pretty quick when no one else can see it.

And yes, the monster can heal right back up to no damage whenever it wants, so flat out killing it, with for example Dust Release, would give a huge clue that it's a genjutsu.

Let me rephrase then, pardon. What you're saying is, it can be cast on multiple people, yet the genjutsu as a whole cannot keep it's hold on people if more than one is under the effects of this Gen? Would you mind adding that in there, or, alternatively, adding in how you cast this specifically on one person while in a group? If doing the first option, you would need to mention how weakened the technique is compared to this being cast specifically on one person
